Essential storage

Authentication cookies maintain secure sessions. Local storage remembers privacy choices and interface preferences. Essential storage supports functionality you request and is separate from optional analytics and advertising.

Analytics

When you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics may use cookies and device information to measure use of the site. Application analytics excludes transcript contents, account email addresses, and private dashboard URLs. If you choose Essential only, the optional analytics script does not load.

Google AdSense and advertising partners

When advertising is enabled, eligible public guide articles may show Google AdSense display ads. The transcript tool, user transcript results, dashboard, and account and legal pages have no advertising placements. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies, identifiers, web beacons, IP addresses, and device information to select and measure advertisements. These technologies may support personalized or non-personalized ads according to your choices. Our display-ad requests wait for both your local opt-in and the applicable decisions from Google’s consent service.

The consent service loads to present privacy choices even before you accept advertising. For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google’s certified consent message manages advertising purposes and vendors. Applicable US state privacy messages and opt-out links are provided by Google. Paid plans exclude our ad placement.

Changing your choices

Use the persistent Cookies button on the main site to reopen local preferences. Select Essential only to withdraw optional consent; the page reloads to stop previously loaded optional scripts. When Google’s consent service is available, Advertising privacy settings reopens its consent message. Google’s Do not sell or share link manages applicable US state opt-outs. You do not need to clear your browser storage to change these choices.
